Tires are automatically sorted by order. In mixed-model production, different tire sizes get mixed up if sorted manually. A scanner identifies each tire’s specification and diverts it to the correct installation station.
Fuel tanks are leak-tested in a pre-assembly area: 15kPa pressure held for 30 seconds. Leakers are repaired offline. Exhaust pipes are pre-assembled into sections and delivered to the line on a hanging conveyor. The spare tire carrier fastener is preset to the correct torque.
A Kanban system controls delivery. Each time an installation station consumes a tire, the buffer knows to send one more. AGVs follow magnetic tape or laser paths.
This system simplifies main-line logistics. No tire racks crowding the line sides, no forklifts shuttling through. When the model mix changes, the tire sorter automatically adjusts to the new specification.
